Just last night, an execution video of two Syrian activists was released. In the video Bashar Abdul Atheem and Faisal Hasan Al Habib, two brave Raqqa residents, are tied up against a tree and shot by masked ISIS soldiers. The well-lit footage of the shootings is then played in slow motion to further exemplify the terror of the execution.
Prior to the killings, the men are interrogated in a carefully practiced video, answering questions next to a computer showing ‘audio graphics,’ intended to imitate a polygraph test. The interrogator asks Atheem and Habib for their names and religious beliefs, to conclude the short interrogation with a description of their crimes. The men are accused of recording videos of ISIS intelligence sites with their smart-watches, as well as for passing out “anti-sharia” fliers for a well-known Syrian activist group known as “Raqqa is being slaughtered silently.”
The video is then concluded with a blurred clip of an older Arabic man dressed in an orange jumpsuit. It is believed that this man will be executed in ISIS’s next propaganda video.
